Welcomed Pakistani women’s cricket star Sana Mir to Thorncliffe Park Public School this morning as part of her work to encourage youth participation in sport, especially among young women.
Sana Mir is a decorated cricketer and a former captain of the Pakistani national women’s cricket team. She led Pakistan to two Gold medals in the Asian Games in 2010 and 2014, and became the first Pakistani woman to earn the top ICC ODI ranking for bowlers.
Thank you, Sana, for inspiring students to participate in sports and become leaders in their communities. I look forward to seeing the girls you trained today make us all proud as future Canadian women’s cricket stars!
